JOB TITLE: Principal

REPORTS TO: Engagement Lead or Partner

JOB PURPOSE: Responsible for managing the delivery of services to clients focused primarily on leading project-based management consulting engagements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • To promote and adhere to the values of Cumberland
  • Manage engagement delivery of up to 10 resources with no Partner oversight
  • Manage the budget of a large scale client projects, often in excess of $100m
  • Build and maintain relationships with the top client executives
  • Prepare and deliver trade presentations or publishing articles or white papers and demonstrate thought leadership
  • Play a key role in identifying, selling and closing opportunities
  • Develops innovative solutions that can be used to sell new types of work to other clients
  • Manage the process of creating invoices and billing clients
  • Assist in the development of Consultants at all levels of the firm
  • Participate in the recruiting process as appropriate

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’ s degree required; focus on healthcare, business, IT, or computer science preferred
  • 10+ years’ experience in consulting or relevant healthcare experience
  • Principals will have mastered the Executive Consultant skill level and served in a leadership role on previous client engagements
  • Experience facilitating large and complex teams including experience working with technical and non-technical staff
  • At least 5 years’ experience in contract management or application implementation
  • Demonstrated project management skills including initiating, planning, executing, controlling and closing processes
  • Demonstrated business development skills by participating in proposal development and presentations and ability to identify and assist in the closure of add-on sales
  • Proven experience in managing the budget of large projects
  • Computer literacy including working knowledge of Microsoft office applications (particular depth in Word, Excel, Power Point, Project)
  • Flexibility to travel extensively or work remotely required
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; must have experience leading meetings with senior executives
